While Austin Glover and Eric Perreault have been part of the Full Spectrum family since the very beginning, Freight 1110 Through Greensboro marks their first appearance as a duo. The album has been a long time coming. The two began their preparations when they lived together in Greensboro's Lindley Park neighborhood, within earshot of the freight line that passes through town. Their house had a large magnolia tree out front; one Halloween Glover stepped on a broken bottle in their yard and was out of commission for weeks. Though begun in Greensboro, the duo recorded throughout a series of moves over the years.

The home-recorded collection expands on the avant-folk work Glover and Perreault have both done in Andrew Weathers Ensemble, this time with a slightly more refined take. Poems by e.e. cummings and W.B. Yeats become country ragas accompanied sometimes by a single fiddle, sometimes by an orchestra of overdubs. Freight 1110 Through Greensboro is an intensely personal ode to the southern city that has also been home to folk experimentalists Eugene Chadbourne and Henry Flynt. Glover and Perreault continue in this tradition though less roughly-hewn; think Flynt meets Glass.
