truly andrew freaked it on this release. extremely realized, dense recordings that continue to elaborate on the "full" in "Full Spectrum". The "10 unrealized score" cards are some of the most inviting wild experiments
Favorite track: Spring Spring, Edge of the Llano.
Full Spectrum presents
a new solo work from Andrew Weathers
The album title is
Catalogs
The release features
a tape, 10 text & graphic scores, the product of Andrew’s experiments with Land Art music from the past few years, a significant break with Andrew’s previous methods of work, a rich indicator of future creative concepts & approaches
The music is made from
field recordings, synths, spoken text components, heavy sonic processing
Features sounds recorded on location in
the Big Bend Region, Dickens Spring [on the edge of the Llano Estacado], Mesa Verde National Park, the city of Cactus, Texas
The spoken texts include
a dream journal, a modified trail guide, a list of markers seen on a particular trip, a list of notable historical figures & location coordinates relevant to a place
This work confronts
Rural Situationism, fantastical aural maps of places & space, the score as functional guide to exploring one’s own psychogeographic experience of place through sound-oriented approaches
It sounds like
the river that runs through us all, the ever-present hum of the Earth Grid, the tuning of the desert at night

This is the album that has gotten me through the pandemic. It has provided peace when peace was nowhere else to be found. It has provided joy when joy was elusive. It has inspired gratitude when darkness and cynicism have crept in. Thank you Andrew. Polygondwanajams

One last dip skyward, scraping at the meditative music of Terry Riley and Alice Coltrane as Weathers reflects on West Texas desert sands in an Auto-Tuned stream of consciousness. Lars Gotrich

A personal, effective work from two of my favorite artists right now. Textures weave back and forth to suggest struggles, acceptance, denials, fear, and celebration all at once. A wonderful album. wc_helmets
